Frequently Asked Questions

This online challenge is primarily to encourage young people to pursue invention. Students from diverse backgrounds can showcase their inventive prowess through this challenge.

School students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are eligible to apply – all it takes is an original idea.

There are 4 categories. Category 1: Grade 1-2; Category 2: Grade 3-5; Category 3: Grade 6-8; Category 4: Grade 9-12.

Junior Inventor Student Online Challenge encourages product and innovation-based ideas around select themes. The idea does not necessarily have to be tech-driven – it can be as simple as inventing your own Rubik’s Cube solving methods.

Junior Inventor Student Online Challenge accepts ideas at varied stages. Whether it’s something that’s only in your mind, or something on paper, or even perhaps for which you’ve built a prototype – they’re all welcome provided that, they are original.

Your film can take any form you like: animation, talking head, documentary, dramatic reconstruction, whatever.

Hint: It’s worth keeping in mind that video is a dynamic visual medium – using diagrams, simulations, physical demonstrations etc. is a lot more effective than standing in front of a blackboard talking.

Your video must be 3 minutes (3:00) in length or shorter to qualify for the Challenge. Please check the time on the YouTube counter to make sure your video is 3 minutes (3:00) or under.

The video will be judged according to the following criteria: Originality of the idea, Relevance to the theme and Engagement.

Yes! All participants will receive certificates and get assured prizes worth Rs. 1000+

There is a nominal fee of Rs. 199 only. All participants will receive guaranteed rewards worth Rs. 1000+

There are grand prizes worth Rs. 5 lakh up for grabs, and the biggest of them all – video feature on KidzByte TV channel!

While we welcome submissions in English, we’re open to inventors across the length and breadth of India, no matter what your language proficiency is.
